Our Services

We provide a wide range of services. They range from time tested to new and innovative. The point is we create a service regimen that encapsulates your best opportunity for success.

MANIPULATION/
CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT

A specific, gentle force is applied to various regions of the spine or extremities to restore motion and/or proper position.A specific, gentle force is applied to various regions of the spine or extremities to restore motion and/or proper position.A specific, gentle force is applied to various regions of the spine or extremities to restore motion and/or proper position.

CUSTOM-MADE ORTHOTICS

Aside from foot condition such as plantar fasciitis, problems with the feet can be the reason for chronic low back pain. If previous treatment of your low back has failed, this commonly missed diagnosis may be the reason. Orthotics may be the key to finally being rid of recurring low back pain. If the foundation is unlevel, the body will compensate for that in the knee, hip, pelvis and low back. “Footlevelers™ custom orthotics will provide a stable symmetrical foundation, enhance body alignment, and reduce unnecessary stress and strain on the joints. A digital topographical scanner will determine the precise corrections that are needed.

HOME ICING

Patient is instructed to ice affected area 15-20 minutes, remove for 45-60 minutes, and repeat(1-5 times as prescribed). This helps to reduce swelling and pain. BIOFREEZE™ liniment is not a replacement for icing but should be applied between icings for enhanced pain relief.

HOME EXERCISE

Recommended to help increase range of motion, increase strength and restore function. Home exercise will drastically speed your recovery if the doctor’s instructions are followed carefully. More is not always better! Resistance tubing may be utilized.

SUPERVISED REHABILITATION

An exercise program will be engineered for you to address the specific muscle weakness/instability responsible for your chronic condition. If this program is not completed, the likelihood of relapse of pain and dysfunction is increased dramatically. The program is supervised to decrease exercise-induced injury due to improper form or technique. The regimen’s difficulty is increased according to the patient’s rate of improvement in flexibility and strength. The program will consist initially of 2-3 sessions per week.

INTERSEGMENTAL STRETCHING

This is performed by a motorized table with a rolling massage unit that gently causes passive movement of the spinal joints. This helps to increase spinal motion and is often used to facilitate the return of spinal curves.

MUSCLE STRETCHING

Passive and active forms of stretching will be utilized as early as your first treatment. Active or PIR(post-isometric relaxation) is a more effective type of stretch that requires the contraction of the muscle immediately before it is stretched by the doctor.

MASSAGE

Techniques such as deep tissue massage, cross-friction massage, myofascial release, muscle stripping or trigger point therapy may be used in conjunction with other manual therapies. These techniques dissipate inflammatory, pain-producing chemicals, relax muscles, re-align scar tissue and reduce healing time.

ULTRASOUND

High frequency sound waves penetrate deep into the soft tissues. Vibration of the water molecules produces a deep internal heat to increase circulation, relax muscles, breakdown scar tissue/calcium deposits and relieve pain.

ELECTRO-MUSCLE STIMULATION

(High-Volt Galvanic or Interferrential Current) is recommended for pain relief. These therapies create local subdermal stimulation to induce the release of the body’s own natural pain relief hormones(endorphins & enkephalins). This also helps relax muscles by increasing circulation and reduce swelling by stimulating lymphatic drainage.

MOIST HEAT

Increases circulation by dilation of blood vessels, allowing oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to enter the area. Relaxes muscles and soft tissues that are in a hypertonic or spastic state. Increases pliability of muscle and allows muscles to be stretched to a greater length without injury and with decreased discomfort.

COLD PACK

Cryotherapy is recommended to reduce inflammation by constricting blood vessels. The cold acts as an analgesic by causing a numbing effect to the region by decreasing nerve impulses to the brain.

DECOMPRESSION THERAPY

Is a traction-based procedure that resulted from almost twenty years of research into the restoration of intervertebral disc integrity. Symptoms resulting from disc herniations and disc degeneration responded well to this procedure 86% of the time according to the most recent research. It is the most popular physical medicine procedure performed today.

LASER THERAPY

Utilizes a specific frequency of concentrated light waves to stimulate increased blood flow and more rapid healing. It causes a 3-9x increase in normal healing rates. Can be used in areas where orthopedic appliances are located beneath the skin.

MANUAL TRACTION/FLEXION-DISTRACTION

The doctor will apply pressure to a specific area of the lower back while the legs are pulled down, away, and possibly to the left or right. A negative pressure or vacuum is created within the damaged disc(s) allowing bulges and herniations to be decreased in size. This procedure reduces radiating leg pain caused by sciatic nerve irritation. Manual traction also greatly benefits those who suffer from severe arthritis and/or stenosis.

KINESIOI-TAPING™ (STRAPPING)
You may have recognized some of this brightly colored tape on some of our most elite athletes at the Olympics. This technique of joint strapping is used to protect tissues from the damaging forces repetitive activity during healing. It also improves muscle performance and assists in stabilizing the joint
